Academia will take center stage at the World Mining Congress (WMC) 2026, the mining sector’s premier global event, scheduled for June 24–26 at the Lima Convention Center. A special area known as the Academic Pavilion will give students, researchers, faculty, and industry professionals access to study programs, the latest research, and training linked to modern mining development.
The pavilion will gather 16 universities and technical training centers from across Peru and internationally, strengthening WMC 2026’s role as a hub where the global mining industry connects with academic research and innovation.
Lima-based participants include Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), TECSUP, CETEMIN, and Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (UNALM).
Other Peruvian regions will also be represented through Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca, Universidad Nacional de Moquegua (UNAM), Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa (UNSA), Universidad Continental in Arequipa, Universidad Nacional de Juliaca, and Universidad Nacional de Trujillo.
International institutions joining include Canada’s University of Alberta and Fleming College, plus Chile’s Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI), known for its applied research and focus on sustainable mining.
