The Angolan government is looking to place five mining enterprises up for pubic tender.

The Angolan government is looking to place five mining enterprises up for pubic tender. Of the five, diamond, iron and phosphate mining rights, will be the first on August 27th according to official reports.

The Angolan Minister of Mineral and Oil Resources, Diamantino de Azevedo released the information last week at the end of the opening ceremony of the 2nd Technical-Scientific Days promoted by the Angolan Association of Women in Geosciences.

The minister also announced that after the Luanda session, presentations would take place in Dubai in September, then London and Beijing consecutively.

According to the minister, the process aims to bring to tender five mining enterprises, two for diamonds in the Angolan provinces of Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul, one iron concession in the province of Kwanza Norte, and two for phosphates in the provinces of Cabinda and Zaire.

Azevedo further added that the announcement of the launch of the tender is intended to provide greater transparency in the management of Angola’s economy, as per the guidelines of President João Lourenço.
