The Doppelmayr Group received a contract for the construction of a RopeCon® system for the international tunnel construction project TELT (Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin). The efficient system will start to transport excavation material at the CO 05 jobsite in the end of 2025 and to support the project as a smart and eco-friendly solution.
ELYOT, the consortium formed by Eiffage Génie Civil (Lead Contractor), Spie Batignolles Génie Civil, Ghella and Cogeis, awarded to Doppelmayr Transport Technology GmbH a contract for the construction of a RopeCon® system at TELT CO 05 jobsite. The company forms part of the Doppelmayr Group and specializes in material transport solutions.
The RopeCon® will support the World’s Longest Rail Tunnel Project (57.5 km) by means of transporting excavated material at a conveying rate of 1350 tph over a distance of approx. 850 m. Thanks to the RopeCon®, ELYOT will be able to feed the St. Antoine “segments prefabrication plant” while minimizing truck usage and without affecting the ceaseless activities of the TELT project. The RopeCon®, first of its kind in France, will also fly over a public road, buildings and the river Arc. Out of the several solutions analysed by ELYOT during CO 05 technical assessment, the RopeCon® has been defined the smartest and most eco-friendly solution for supporting the TELT project. Its commissioning is planned for Q4 2025, and it will operate for approx. 5 years.
