‘Platinum’ chromium: Kazchrome is assigned the highest rating by EcoVadis and has its Responsible Chromium Label confirmed by the ICDA.

Ecovadis platinum award to Kazchrome

TNC Kazchrome JSC , a subsidiary of Eurasian Resources Group, has received the EcoVadis Platinum Award based on its ESG rating and once again has been awarded the Responsible Chromium Label by the ICDA.

For the third year in a row, Kazchrome has had its corporate social responsibility and ESG performance rated by an independent CSR agency, EcoVadis.

In 2023, the company retained the EcoVadis Platinum Award. Kazchrome scored 78 points out of 100 (2022: 75 points) and ranked in the top 1% of companies in the global iron and steel industry, the highest rating assigned by EcoVadis. Thus, chromium produced by ERG Group rightly deserves the epithet ‘platinum’.

‘We are proud to announce that our company has been awarded an ESG rating medal by EcoVadis. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to environmental, social and corporate responsibility,’ emphasised Serik Shakhazhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of Eurasian Resources Group LLP. ‘Our team has worked hard to incorporate sustainability across all aspects of our operations, and this success demonstrates our commitment to making a positive impact on the world around us.’

Following the evaluation by EcoVadis, the International Chromium Development Association (ICDA) has awarded Kazchrome the Responsible Chromium Label, which shows that the company has gone above and beyond the standard requirements needed to responsibly source chromium.

Overall, Kazchrome is systematically developing its ESG programme, which is underpinned by sustainability principles and values, espousing the importance of health and safety, minimising the impact on the environment and climate, labour rights and human rights, anti-corruption, the application of best practices in the sphere of business ethics, and corporate governance.

‘The ESG rating medal awarded by EcoVadis has become a symbol of our transparency, efficient governance, and our commitment to a sustainable future. This achievement will inspire us to continue our efforts to create a greener, fairer, and more sustainable world’, commented Sergei Prokopiev, General Director of TNC Kazchrome JSC. ‘I would like to thank all of our employees, customers, partners, and stakeholders who support our sustainability efforts. Together, we are shaping a better future for everyone.’
