Bühler mining and manufacturing solutions

Bühler Southern Africa will showcase its capabilities in bulk material handling, dust management, local manufacturing and digital solutions for mining, minerals processing and other processing and related customers at Electra Mining Africa 2026 from 7 to 11 September at Nasrec.

While Bühler is globally recognised for its expertise in milling and grain processing, its industrial offering also includes conveying systems, dust management, wear protection, manufacturing and aftermarket services. At Electra Mining Africa, the company will highlight how these capabilities can support customers across industries where efficient and reliable bulk-material handling is critical.

“Electra Mining is one of the most important industrial exhibitions in Southern Africa, making it the ideal platform for us to engage directly with customers and industry partners,” comments Marco Sutter, Managing Director, Bühler Southern Africa, a longstanding exhibitor at the expo.

Local manufacturing supports faster response

Bühler’s Johannesburg manufacturing facility plays a central role in serving customers across Southern Africa. The facility manufactures components, undertakes repairs and refurbishments, and develops customised engineered solutions, helping customers reduce lead times and minimise downtime.

“Local manufacturing provides significant advantages,” says François Knoetze, Head of Manufacturing and Logistics, Bühler Southern Africa. “Being close to our customers allows us to respond more quickly and provide technical support that reflects local operating conditions.”

Combining local execution with Bühler’s global engineering expertise enables the company to deliver high-quality products while providing responsive technical support throughout the lifecycle of an installation.

The company’s local capabilities extend beyond manufacturing to include technical and aftermarket support that help customers maximise equipment performance, reduce downtime and meet maintenance requirements throughout the lifecycle of their installations.

Digital technologies support operational performance

Automation, digitalisation and data-driven technologies are also becoming increasingly important for industrial customers seeking greater visibility over equipment performance and production processes. By collecting and analysing operational data, customers can monitor equipment in real time, identify maintenance requirements before failures occur and make more informed decisions.

“These technologies help reduce unplanned downtime, improve asset utilisation and enable more informed operational decisions, ultimately improving productivity and reducing costs,” says Knoetze. These capabilities complement Bühler’s focus on solutions that can improve throughput while reducing waste, water, energy consumption and maintenance requirements.

Bühler’s industrial capabilities on show

At Electra Mining Africa 2026, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with Bühler’s team and explore its capabilities across bulk-material handling, manufacturing, technical support and digital technologies.

The company will be available throughout the exhibition to discuss operational challenges with existing and prospective customers and explore practical solutions tailored to individual requirements. “We look forward to welcoming both existing customers and those who may be discovering Bühler’s industrial capabilities for the first time,” concludes Sutter.
